Your Semi Truck Parts Room Will Keep You Rolling
You have your own truck to earn a better living than a company driver but here is more to it than just earning more money, you also have to keep it. Don’t always be at the mercy of Bubba’s Truck Repair on a Sunday afternoon. Carry a good set of tools in your truck and know how to use them! Also carry a few common parts that are prone to failure, parts that are cheap to buy at home, but will break the bank buying and having them installed by someone else on the road. Here are a few items that are a good idea to keep stocked in your truck in case of an on the road breakdown or emergency. Even if you can not install them yourself it will still save time and money just having them available.
- Spare alternator
- A spare set of belts
- A selection of lights
- Fuel filters
- Jumper cables
- One spare unmounted tire, if you have the luxury of a place to store it
- Selection of fuses and relays
- A spare idler pully
- Zip ties or tie wraps
- A roll of duct tape ( these last two will fix a lot of things with no tools )
